For Katherine

Hello to all!

It's been 6 weeks since my last post and because Katherine was so appalled, I will now post!!!!

So, here's to you Katherine......

All is well here in Salvitti-land. The holidays are over and life has begun again.

Leigha is finishing a report/power point/food presentation on Brazil and beginning a project on the Titanic. She's now swimming once a week with her instructor, Francisco, that's fun to say, Francisco! She is working toward readiness for swim team in the fall. She says the water is her favorite place to be....and that playing the violin and swimming are the most relaxing things that she does. She can't wait until she's in the water everyday!

Jake just finished a report/model on Venus and is presenting it today. He is so funny in his "factual" writing. Here is his 1st paragraph:

"Have you ever wanted to live on the planet Venus? If so I will tell you if you can. Firstly, you can’t, because it is so hot it can get up to 900 degrees fahrenheit (482 degrees Celsius). Also, you can’t really get to the surface because the clouds have sulfuric acid fog (which burns skin and melts metal, ouch!). Space probes have only lasted a few hours before being crushed by its air atmosphere."

He included a space probe on his model, too. Too cute!

He had an awesome swim meet last weekend where he took a total of 27.28 seconds off of 5 races! He rocked!

Mike is amazing! I love him! (of course!)

He recently received verbal orders to Naval Operations Support Command, Indianapolis, Indiana. We're waiting on our "hard" (or paper) orders, but it looks like we're moving back to Indy in June! Mike will be the second senior enlisted guy there with only the commanding officer above him and his chief......so, 3rd in the chain of command.......or a good career move for you non-military. He's looking forward to it. Indy was his first command 13 years ago and he was the most junior guy there, so it's neat to be able to come full circle.

We're looking for a place with a great school and a great swim program that's not too far from work. I am hoping to go to school while we're there......motivation is not my constant companion, though, so we'll see!

We'll be next to Mike's family again which is fabulous! And we have so many fun friends there that we'll never be lonely!

I must pause in my blog and go be a mom but I will be back at a sooner than later time!
